Of Coffee With Winnie

winnie mug.jpg

If you were having coffee with me, I would say

“Knock knock”

You would ask

“Who is there?”

I would say

“Arent”

You would ask

“Arent who?”

I would reply

“Arent you glad its not another covfefe joke”

I would laugh and laugh until tears welled in my eyes and you would laugh too maybe with or at me, but I do hope with me.

Please stick around and have hot beverage, the weather is a touch cold, in these parts. Winter is here! As a friend from the twitterverse Phroetiq phrased it:

I no longer believe in seasons.

I believe in days.

And today is winter

If you were having coffee with me I would let you in on a secret project of mine. Once upon a time a few days back, we went to a local prison to make a tiny donation; (that you need not bother yourself about) but as we left, I had a lovely chat with the Prison Chaplain and we told him if there was anything we could help with and it was within our means he should not hesitate to let us know.

He didnt…

He asked if we could somehow organize for him to have a bible or two for the inmates he would be extremely grateful. I told him “We would see…” you know that standard response you make when you agreeing but not entirely to something, without commitment. Upon further conversation I was shocked to discover that of the 700 approx inmate population not a single bible was currently available for them to use, that they have to wait to until Sunday to hear The Word…..

As the chaplain put it they are trying to rehabilitate prisoners and save their souls, because as he sees it, people commit crime because they lost apart of themselves to the darkness, and he is trying to the best of his ability to restore that which was lost……

**in a related fact about a month ago 120 inmates got baptized.

This had me thinking that the bible or two we could find would simply be a drop in the ocean and without even a second thought we made a donation of our personal bibles, I dont really use mine; before you get all curious, allow me to rephrase I have a bible app on my phone and am not in dire need….. I also reached out to the friends who live on the internet:

In the past week I received 50 bibles and another friend is arranging for another 20, and I am also working with several other people who have said we’ll see…. Fingers crossed

He asked me for one or two I found 70 with a possibility for more….

When you reach out… sometimes someone reaches back

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if by any chance you came across the trend that had people declaring how shocked they were to realise that their childhood was a lie, because Winnie The Pooh was female….. WAIT  WHAT???

Winnie The Pooh

Winnie The Pooh

You know nothing Jon Snow

Yes Winnie was female…..

The real Winnie though; the one the character by A.A. Milne was based upon, was a real bear; female and Canadian. The bear was named after the city of Winnipeg, the hometown of the vet who bought her as a cub. Winnie eventually ended up at London Zoo; where she enthralled young Christopher Robin so much, he named his own teddy bear Winnie after her. Christopher Robin’s father was none other than the author A.A. Milne and the rest as they is a story of honey loving bear and adventures with his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood….

The bear from the cartoons and books is most assuredly male and your childhood is perfectly safe (for now) and you did not experience any gender identification problems… You are welcome.

If you were having coffee with me I’d iterate  what I said last week Constant Vigilance; a quick Google search could would have revealed this “truth” explained in a tell all children’s picture book by Canadian author Lindsay Mattick published in 2015 Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear

Thanks for dropping by and much appreciated

PS I just read on the death of actor Adam West who played the first Batman I remember watching growing up… and in honour of him this joke from opening title theme song:

Of Coffee with Jack Of All Trades

If you were having coffee with me; I would welcome you into my house and home like the favourite guest that you are. I might not mention it enough or ever at all but I do so love your visits; every time there is a knock at the door, I hope its you but; its only my twin toddler nephews, they have discovered the art of knocking on doors.

They knock on open doors, they knock on closed doors they knock on all doors and surfaces until you say “Come in”; then they knock some more and giggle… And they have discovered clothes have pockets anything they pick up goes straight in there; money, keys, pens, thats the first place you should look when you cant find something, which happens, twice like déjà vu because twins….

Ah yes I’ve always wondered why babies clothes have pockets:

They are for putting all the “dollars”  from visitors so their parents so can buy treats for the them( ah the embezzlement that occurs, I guess its payment for all the drama toddlers cause) and also as My twitter Neha friend pointed out kids’ pockets are filled with innocence….

…….and that inspired the beginning of a story rattling about in my head:

“Once they had walked merrily, arm in arm, not a care in the world, pockets full of innocence and sunshine; until the day they dipped into the pockets to find them empty, somewhere along the way, no one knew where; innocence got lost or stolen or if they ever had it at all. Now they walked arms protectively crossed; some where along the way they had become adults……”

If you were having coffee with me I would tell that every time I have an interesting idea I have decided to write it down because I absolutely hate it when I sit down and realize I don’t remember what the idea was, simply haunted by the ghost of a brilliant idea that’s just at the edge of recollection…..

If you were having coffee with me I would say thank you for pretending to not notice that the house is a mess, we have been doing some home improvements, and also some furniture got damaged when we moved. Moving is rough on wooden furniture and glassware; the fact that it was raining; didn’t help.

Everyday I write but yesterday I was a carpenter repairing furniture, the day before that I was a babysitter, today I am an electrician and tomorrow I will be a plumber and maybe the day after that a painter, and then a gardener.

Gardening is therapeutic; plants require only water and sun, you can even whisper your secrets to them if you like, the perfect best friend, who is always there, by the green patch where you first met, they will listen without interrupting, they don’t judge and you know they will keep your secret to the earth they sprouted from or until you cook them and have them for dinner, well because plants don’t talk and they are rooted to the spot (unless it’s a pot plant… HA) Its not weird right? To name your vegetables (Asking for a friend)

Its been lovely having you over, do tell what have you been upto? Read any good books seen any good movies… does watching a movie based on book with the subtitles enabled count as reading the book??

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if you had to choose between Strong Roots or Strong Wings… what would you pick?

~B

PS My life is so much more interesting in my head…

mind.jpg

Its been two months since we moved and yeah about 90% unpacked yey!!! Unpacking is such a process…..

Of Coffee, April Fools, Short Stories and Fathers

If you were having coffee with me I would say thank you for joining me, how have you been? I have been good cheers to the New Month, hello April what do you have in store for us? Good things I hope.

So did anyone play any good April Fools pranks on you or did you do the pranking?

I didn’t prank anyone but I did write a Very Short Story #VSS called April’s fool:

He used to be the court jester, till he clowned his way into queen April’s heart. No one ever called him King only April’s Fool….

For those who follow my twitterverse account @Beatonm5 you might have noticed I tweet a lot using that hashtag #VSS.. I have been asked many times what this means  it simply stands for a very short story. Twitter and its 140 characters per tweet makes you adept at the fine art of brevity of expression and challenges your creative skills to write a story. If you have a second you can find my #VSS tweets by clicking HERE. If you tweet micro-stories on twitter do let me know and I will check it out and if you haven’t you must try it, it’s also a good way to come up with writing ideas or a story to develop further, for those moments you think you have writer’s block.

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you I attended my first mass today. Before you look at me with that scandalous expression it was not my first mass but rather it was the first mass I have been to where the priest in attendance is a family member. He got ordained as a priest last year but time and circumstance had not made it possible for me to attend any of his services. It was quite weird, watching him, deliver sermons and perform sacred rites of communion with ease of someone who has been a priest all his life. It’s also weird how once, he was my young brother and now I call him Father, he looks older. He looks like someone you can confess your sins to, without being judged and expecting him to mete out a fair penance of Our Fathers and Hail Marys, someone who could officiate your wedding, baptise your little ones and when you laid there on your deathbed someone who would perfom the last rites and finally bury you and into the   hole ye goes… Someone you could call Father.

I remember attending his ordination ceremony officiated by an Apostolic nuncio who is the Pope’s emissary so it was quite an honour. The community decided to welcome him by bestowing upon him the gift of a totem, he was declared of the Moyo (Heart) Clan. I am fairly sure protocol was creatively circumvented and he accepted ever so graciously. He thanked the family for our generosity in letting go one of ours to a greater calling. The ordination of a priest, it feels bittersweet like part marriage and part funeral… Christ being the bridegroom: does that make the priest, the bride? but unlike a wedding you are not gaining in-laws as such, but losing your relation to the church … imagine calling your own son father I guess that’s why priest end up in parishes far from their home and family to prevent awkward encounters and broken hearts just like at any wedding.

If you were having coffee with me I would tell I just got my few seconds of fame from a YouTube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcmwF7_6Ljo

where I got a shout out from Leeann who I featured on my blog The Girl In the Red Dress ( she has a YouTube channel and shares recipes with Conde a parrot I do believe) anyhow someone watched the clip and is now a new follower on my blog, I would have mentioned them by name but, they are internet shy, so I’ll just say I hope you read this wherever you are…

Cheers, April Showers and May Flowers

PS speaking of pranks, and April I am still trying to figure out if this notice from the Zambia Police is real or not, if you do please tell me so…..

Of Coffee With Unexpected Things

If you were having coffee with me I would say “Hello February 🙌” because you see I am a February baby **hint hint**
Remember the last time we had coffee☕ in the rain ☔….  well it kept right on raining on and off; mostly on but it’s stopped for now, and out comes the sun☀

Although not before it managed to rain up a storm that felt pretty much like the end of the world as we know it, or a scene from Orson Welles’ War Of The World. 🌋There was lightning, ⚡there was deafening thunder, there was flooding, trees got uprooted, and the falling trees, just had to land on power lines, because when nature starts dishing out disaster it doesn’t go for half servings, so that pretty much took out the electricity for our neighbourhood.

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you that Pastor Evan Mawarire of the #ThisFlag online movement returned back into the country after almost 6 months in self imposed exile in fear for his life, only to get arrested at the airport immediately upon return. When he left the country the judicial system had thrown out the state’s case of charging him with trying to subvert a constitutionally elected government on  a procedural technicality, not sure what they decided to charge him with this time and naturally social media is rife with speculation and conspiracy theories but that’s to be expected.
If you were having coffee with me,  I would tell you that the tea’s ready and when I say the tea’s ready, what I mean is that; the water has boiled and cups are in the kitchen cupboard, the spoons are over there…

The tea leaves are in the container for the powdered milk and if you take sugar, there is brown sugar in the old coffee jar. There’s powdered milk in the bottle for salad cream, just dont confuse it with salt, which is in the bottle for mayonnaise…. and there’s the bread 🍞 jam and peanut butter Help yourself. 😇😇

And I baked a cake 🎂 well it’s not ready it’s like you know that furniture you buy and it comes with a manual of how to assemble it in your house,  well there’s the cake.

If you were having coffee with me, I would ask you, to “Guess what?” “What” you say.  I say “Guess” and you look at me with that eye that says you don’t like guessing games. OK fine I’ll tell you. The postman came to pay me a visit. He brought me a late Christmas card I guess that’s why they call it snail mail thank you Tara 🙂 it was unexpected…

I also got an unexpected email but that’s a story for another day.
Thank you for dropping by have an awesome week.

~B
PS Also something unexpected our house is haunted or a giant rat lives in the ceiling….. Spooky 🎃

Of Coffee In The Rain

Of Coffee In The Rain

rain.jpg

If you were having coffee with me, I hope you brought an umbrella because it’s been raining heavily in my neck of the woods, almost non-stop. They say it is the La Niña effect, so flooding is expected.

I love the rain, I love dancing in the rain, and I love the sound of rain drops falling,

music.jpg

but now I wake up singing rain, rain go away come again another day cause it’s a little much too much, and I am running out of clothes to wear.

Rain Drop,

Drop Top,

How can my laundry dry when it rains non-stop?

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you I watch the lightning and count the heartbeats between the lightning flash and the thunder. I have a friend who giggles at the claps of thunder, she squeals in delight as the thunder peals across the sky and I; I am just happy to be alive.

Does it mean anything when it rains heavily at the beginning of the year? Well obviously it means the harvest is going to be bumper, after a couple of near droughts, it’s a welcome relief. But does it signify anything like the end of an era or the start of something new washing away the old and beginning afresh?…

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you, do you ever wonder if when people sing at the top of their voices “Open the floodgates of heaven” they could really be asking to be drowned? No? Just me then. But it’s been raining like someone opened the floodgates.

heaven.jpg

What’s been happening in your neck of the woods? I saw America inaugurate their 45th president and said farewell to Obama, and over here we have had the same president since 1980, and he is a candidate for the next presidential elections in 2018; when Zim Decides. African presidents seem to have a penchant for lengthy terms in office, and staying in power against all the odds. The former president of Gambia Yahya Jammeh who lost the elections in December 2016 after 22 years in power refused to acknowledge the poll results causing a crisis situation for the past month even going so far as to declare a State of Emergency a few days ago, but after some intervention efforts he has finally decided to step down on a TV Broadcast saying “I believe in the importance of dialogue … I have decided today in good conscience to relinquish the mantle of this great nation

Maybe the rains do signify change….. RAIN

If you were having coffee with me I would introduce to you my next Guest Blogger Leeanna Lazenby she is a creative poet with a parrot and a collection of red dresses. You can find her on twitter, and her story features in my next post, so stay tuned.

Thank you for the visit I would walk you out but see, my shoes are muddy, cause of all the rain, there is a certain reluctance involved in putting on wet shoes let alone wet socks, so I’ll just wave you away, until next time.

Of Coffee and WordCamps

code-is-poetry

If you were having coffee with me I would say compliments of the season has the festive fever gripped you yet? In my neck of the woods, it’s been a bit low to start  I guess the low disposable income and the crazy circus that is our economy doing a downward spiral which sounds like a fun ride at the amusement park, only that it isnt; it means we have to brace for a trying 2017.

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if you sent any Christmas cards this year. I did not, so I guess I will not be waiting up on the postman to bring me anything, oh maybe someone can surprise me…. *hint hint*

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you how I attended my very first WordCamp which was also the first time such an event was hosted in Harare; Zimbabwe. The fourth to be held in Africa this year, others having been held in Nairobi, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.

wce.jpg

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you if you ever have a chance to attend one of these, WordCamps, DO!  There is something for all WordPress users from web developers, designers to even the occasional blogger. It’s quite the experience and you will absolutely not leave empty headed not to mention great networking and  a chance to meet up with people whom you might already know but only digitally, and the after-party of course

If you were having coffee with me, I would tell you, how slightly apprehensive I was at going; thinking it might be all technical about code, command lines and java scripts and I would be out of my depth, drowning in open source lingo. I was greatly impressed by Sizo who did a presentation of how she built a Website in a little under 24 hours after she had, we wont say lied as such; lets just say maybe say exaggerated her Website building skills to her potential employer during an interview and when she got hired one of her first tasks was to create a website for the company, and she did….

Sizo-Sinyolo-WordCamp.jpg

If you were having coffee with me, I would ask you whether the abbreviation SEO means anything to you. I always thought it was fancy speak understood by only by tech gurus. I learnt during a presentation by Trust from Calmlock about Search Engine Optimizations; how if you have an online presence or website and Google cannot find you, you might as well as not exist, so you use SEO to maximise your visibility and he definitely knew what he was on about, because  if you Google: SEO Zimbabwe, his company appears at 2nd position of Google search results.

Have you ever Googled your blog or website are you on the first page of Google? Fortunately if you blog on WordPress.com it does this for you and you get to focus on doing the things you like to do, I am guessing that’s writing.

I also met a Happiness Engineer from WordPress, these are those friendly almost imaginary people who give you help and support on WordPress forums. It seems like a fun place to work and I would not mind being one of those, not to mention I have always been unofficially been helping  out my fellow bloggers with their WordPress features so yeah…. if anyone from Automattic is reading this *looks at you pointedly* does this count favourably towards my application?.

Of A Coffee Affair and Dreams

wp-1468828080069.jpgIf you were having coffee with me I would tell you……Ahhh! Even before I wake.. I can smell you..
Mmmm your scent awakens me with a smile..

I must have you.. ..
Yes,

Your rich ebony color is so delightful promising sweetness…

Your darkness so deep….

As I consume you…

I savor your taste..

I feel your warmth invigorating me to the core,

You enter my body…

and I feel alive..

I savor every sip , second…every drop…

All I need to face the day..
I take a little of you with me..

Can’t imagine my life without you…
If you were having coffee with me I would tell you of my coffee affair and oh damn! how I love my coffee!

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you what was the last good dream you had ? Do you remember, any of your dreams? It seems like I only remember the nightmares….

I had a dream I was test driving a jaguar it’s a phenomenal creature with a  fine balance of stealth  and speed. It was exhilarating experience, I mean have you heard how it roars a display of raw power that makes your heart either stop or beat rapidly or even both at the same time… The ride was a little bumpy and I kept sliding of, and The Jaguar might have tried to bite me a couple of times I don’t think Jaguars fancy being ridden, we will have to ask an expert ….and I think next time I must dream up a saddle…..

Jag.jpeg

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if you read my last post on The Great TV Licence Conspiracy? Anyway guess what the Constitution Court passed a landmark ruling which means we under obligation to Pay TV Licences if we possess any device capable of receiving a signal regardless of whether you listen to the national broadcaster or not…. I do wonder how they will enforce this law, *thinking frog face emoji* will they make us take out our phones to display  TV licences ….. ?

Word on the street is that legislation is under way to ban citizens from owning or carrying flag and only institutions can display the national flag, this comes after The whole #ThisFlag Movement made waves in the corridors of power. Currently in Court and Parliament people are already banned from displaying flags as it seems to be in support of “The Flag Pastor”….. I thought The Flag was for all patriots *sips tea*

If you were having coffee with I would ask you how your week has been, what’s good with you and here is to an awesome week…^_^

~B

PS we are having lemon tea and scones as we watch the sun dissolve…….

Of Coffee, Herbal Persuasion And Corruption

IMG_20160703_153546.jpg

If you were having coffee with me it’s not coffee we would be drinking but an interesting cuppa of Zumbani tea, me thinks someone is beginning to like it…..

IMG_20160703_131450.jpg

Zumbani Tea Leaves

I recently got a fresh batch and am waiting for it to dry up then I shall grind it and presto we have herbal goodness. It tastes like the love child of mint, lemon, thyme and possibly ginger, dont even try to visualise how that happened….

My niece even made an awesome label for it.

IMG_20160703_153942.jpg

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you how I got invited to a Food For Thought discussion about The Role Of Artists in Fighting Corruption hosted at the Public Affairs Section of  the US Embassy. The panelists were Dumisani Mthombeni an anti-corruption advocate, Peter Churu chairman of Arterial Network Zimbabwe and Chirikure Chirikure, a renowned poet.

CmCzFtIWIAA1L2Z.jpg

My first thought was that I am not an artist, artists are the sculptors, painters, musicians, actors of the world….. The more I thought about I realised I am an artist too, I sculpt, paint, and create but with words; A wordsmith. As Mr Chirikure put it Art is a calling.

The world is full of artists; art imitating life, life imitating art. Art is the mirror through which the society views itself, Art is not only the voice of the society but its conscience and custodian of morals.

20160629125050 copy.jpg

20160701131005 copy.jpg

Corruption has reached unprecedented levels and it’s a beast; eating away at our moral fiber; a beast that devours the future for the comforts of the present. Corruption is fueled by the levels of desperation in the society. How can people not get desperate when the government is having trouble paying civil servants and instead would offer a $100 advance; yet you find individuals being awarded government tenders making hyper-inflated profits and government officials driving the latest luxury vehicles.

Zimbabwe rates at number 155 out of 189 on the Ease of Doing Business ranks, taking about 90 days of procedures to get a legitimately operated business licensed and running. People end up either  “palm greasing”  or buying literally a briefcase company.  We have an unemployment level speculated to be 90%  and almost everyone is a dealer, a hustler, an entrepreneur (read as tenderpreneur) dabbling in a side enterprise to just to get our daily bread. There is generation of graduates who have never worked and it’s normal to hear someone making a comment that being A Zimbabwean should be written on your CV as work experience.

Corruption has become the norm and the thing about corruption is it feeds on silence.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

One of the panelist  made the following  quote “I fear more a corrupt society more than AIDS or Cancer because a corrupt society does not allow anyone to legally rise.

How diplomatic can you be when the house is on fire?

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if you have any ideas about how to fight corruption, do share.

IMG-20160703-WA0000.jpg

Against Corruption Together

If you were having coffee with me I would tell you that the protest play I  reviewed here Missing Diamonds: I want my share was recently showing in Norway at the Bergen Afro Arts Festival, a one man play about someone asking what happened to the 15 billion dollars our government says it “lost.” and the actor Silvanos Mudzvova is rehearsing for a new play coming out soon.

If you were having coffee with me I would say “It’s the  eve of the 4th of July…… Happy fourth of July and have an awesome week ahead thanks for dropping by ^_^”

Of Coffee On A Fishy Trip

If  you were having coffee with me…….lakeside coffee.jpg

If you were having coffee with me we would be having a hot cuppa in the great outdoors like a picnic. We would be going fishing and of course we would have a flask of hot coffee, and some tasty sandwiches which I got up at the crack of dawn to make.

sandwich.jpg

Have a sandwich, I hope you like chicken, I killed the chicken myself and now we are going to catch fish and have it for supper. You had best be wearing something warm, the weather seems to have decided not only is winter coming “Stark WordsWinter Is Here, its cloudy with a chance of  rain. The weather Forecast says “Expect heavy rains”, funny I didn’t know the sky was pregnant.

If you were having coffee with me we would be going to the lake, Lake Chivero. We would stop along the way to buy worms because its all about the bait, ask any good fisherman, I would not know not though, that’s what the guy who sells worms said, but suspect he only says that to get you to buy his worms.

IMG_20160202_150618.jpg

They say give a man a fish and feed him for a day, but teach a man the fine of art of fishing and he will find an excuse to go to the lake and lounge the day away….. It’s a bit windy would you like a nip of whiskey in your coffee, it’s single malt, slow brewed, extra matured and tastes like oak or is it woody anyway I won’t tell if you won’t tell.

The thing about fishing is that there is a fine line between fishing and standing with fishing rod in hand looking awesomely foolish. Have a swig of whiskey ooops I mean coffee and lets wile away the day.

If you were having with me, we would go for a boat ride, if you pay a modest fee, they rent out a canoes for the day, they even include life jackets and warn you not to row to far else you might get in a current. It feels a bit unsteady as if it might topple over but after a while you get used to it but try not to think about lochness monsters, leviathans and krakens and the harder you try to not think about something, goosebumps.

2016-02-13 15.jpg

Oh no, while we were out on the boat, some bright spark thought the worms were thirsty and poured whiskey into the can of worms, now they are all dead, alcohol kills worms. So we have no more bait which is our valid excuse for why we did not catch any fish. Isnt it fortunate that there fisherman who sell fish just close by so will buy one or two big ones  and pretend we caught them.

fish-in-bucket.jpg

Shhhh *conspiratorial wink* no one need ever know and when someone asks we shall smile that knowing smile and say “You should have seen the one that got away….. it was a leviathan

0001b8c8_medium.jpeg

The afternoon rain forecasted has started and we have to be going now, glad you hung around on our fishing trip so long and thanks for all the fishes♥♥♥♥

bye-bye (1).jpg

Of Coffee and Easter

If you were having coffee with me………
If you were having coffee with me I would say Happy Easter holidays how is/was your weekend going hope it is/was great.

Here have piping hot cuppa and I would offer you a plate of steaming hot cross buns, fresh from being nuked in the microwave; I hope you do not mind having microwaved food?
I ask this because I know people who prefer to eat cold food when they have a perfectly good microwave cause they are deathly afraid of radiation but funny enough they are constantly on their mobile phone with a Bluetooth headset and WiFi always on isn’t that ironic.

Don’t mind me, as I brush away a few ants crawling on the buns, (currently have va little ant problem) They are rather hardcore ants, considering they just walked out of a plate from the microwave (and that’s why cockroaches, scorpions and ants will be the only things left after a nuclear holocaust) Anyhoo as my mum always said ants are mostly harmless and they are tonic for the stomach, but I think she just said that to get us to not be fussy over a few ants in your food.

If you were having coffee with me I would ask you if you went Easter Egg hunting. Curious things Easter eggs;
-Where do they come from? I mean what sort of creatures lay Easter eggs?  I would not mind having a pet that laid chocolate eggs, just saying.
-Does the  Easter Bunny lay them or is it some weird rainbow chickens that have clearly been nuked by some cosmic microwaves?
-And then the Easter bunny just does the collecting and hiding for the hunt?…

Having spent a long time at a Catholic boarding I have a confession to make. You know during the Eucharistic Feast of Holy Communion in celebration of the Last Supper the priest holds up a chalice of wine and says this is my blood, and then a wafer and says this is the body of Christ. I  used to have this crazy thought that what if he held up a bowl of noodles and said these are his intestines and some mashed potatoes and said these are his brains….  It’s a good thing these where innocent thoughts of youth otherwise I would have been struck by lightning during mass, yes?

If you were having coffee with me being a Christian I would say Amazing Grace, I owed a debt I could not pay and he paid a debt he did not owe Amen.
Compliments of the Easter season
~B

P.S. My internet being slow so I could not upload images I found a picture of likely candidates to laying Easter eggs
